Monsoons are believed to be the best time for planting trees. During monsoons, the soil which is parched due to scorching summers is able to absorb moisture and becomes more conducive for planting. The young saplings if planted during the monsoons have a more chance of survival as their roots get stabilized into the soil. Moreover, due to high moisture content, the soil is able to harbor the growth of beneficial microorganisms needed for the early development of the trees.
