SankalpTaru Foundation is working in the districts of Barmer and Jaisalmer, Thar desert, Rajasthan to support the livelihood of poor farmers by growing trees of varied plant species like Pomegranate, Ber, Lemon and many more in the list. This way our contribution has not only created greenery in this arid region but has also gone a long way in providing livelihood to the poor farmers. We are also instrumental in planting trees in community land and schools located in the region.

With an aim of increasing green patch in the arid Thar desert, Greenlam Laminates associated with SankalpTaru Foundation to embark on a green mission. Under their Rural Livelihood Support Program, a total of 5,002 saplings of pomegranate were planted on the lands of 5 identified farmer beneficiaries from Dhaka village in Rajasthan. Our healthy plants rooted to sustain the living of poor rural farmers would eventually act as an essential asset for enhancing groundwater levels and soil fertility of the barren dry land of Thar, while rejoicing the vicinity with a wave of lush fresh greenery.

We collaborated with Teach for India and introduced a holistic environmental education program in their MCD schools across the NCR region. This project was a systematic attempt to sensitize the kids about growing environmental degradation and its repercussions. The vision was for them to grow up to be environmentally conscious citizens of the country – which is the need of the hour. It also educated fellows  (Teach for India teachers)  about how they themselves can contribute to mother nature.

Project Dettol SiTi Shield, a collaborative initiative by RB and SankalpTaru Foundation is a mission to create clean and healthy air for the nation and its natives. Under the aegis of this project, huge number of trees were planted in several schools of Haridwar, Dehradun and Rishikesh regions of Uttarakhand state to mobilize young kids about the importance of trees and greenery. Thus, through enthusiastic tree plantation drives we could inculcate in the young minds a sense of environment responsibility.

TATA Power and SankalpTaru Foundation joined hands to plant 5,000 trees in various schools across 8 Indian states, involving around 6,000 students in the campaign. Godrej appliances and SankalpTaru joined hands to contribute their share towards creating green cover on the much beloved festival of lights. On this auspicious occasion of Diwali, every Godrej vendor received a greeting card and email with a personalized message, picture and geo-coordinates of their individual tree. Not only did this initiative serve as a unique gift, but in the future it will also act as a source of income for rural beneficiaries on whose lands the trees were planted.

Project Harit Udaan was a collaborative initiative with HMSI to offset their high carbon footprint through the plantation of 100,000 trees. The selected regions where plantations were carried out are geographically deprived of greenery and thus our mission is to increase their green cover, while also supporting rural farmers in earning a strengthened living who have been supported with fruit-bearing saplings.

With an aim of proliferating green delight in the state of Maharashtra along with supporting rural livelihood, employees from New India Assurance planted 150 trees on the lands of identified farmer beneficiaries with SankalpTaru team. Highly conscious towards sustainable development of the environment, NEC Technologies associated with SankalpTaru Foundation to make Earth more greener and cleaner through their Project Protect Earth. Thus, the teams carried out plantations of 600 fruit-bearing and native trees at Nirashrithara Parihara Kendra (NPK), a destitute center in Bangalore. Since its initial plantation, the project has come a long way in developing a self-sustainable and self-enthusiastic model for the inmates of NPK, while revamping environmental conditions of India’s Garden City.

The plantation campaign had a sole aim of combating striking pollution levels of India’s rapidly developing cities by rooting a total of 25,000 trees in several residential societies. The mission was to mobilize city dwellers about environment conservation, while fostering environmental stewardship within them to nurture plants regularly. Our enthusiastic initiative is successfully creating green lungs in the respective cities to sequester high carbon from the atmosphere.

Phillips collaborated with SankalpTaru Foundation to initiate a massive tree plantation movement. This breathe clean campaign had a sole aim of bringing lush greenery at some of the highly barren and polluted locations of India by not only educating the populace about environment conservation, but also promoting eco-friendly living. Plantations were carried out at several schools to aware the young kids about importance of trees for a healthy living and also they were taught how to foster the saplings regularly.

SankalpTaru Foundation is working in the village of Talupula in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh because this village suffers from frequent droughts and adverse weather conditions for growing crops. The region faces a high agricultural related suicide rate because of failed crops and drops in the market process. Our Project Green Deccan is therefore successfully providing rural livelihood support through this agroforestry approach to improve the villagers’ livelihoods and provide a sustainable income for their families.

The Aravallis are a vital ‘Recharge Zone’ for Delhi NCR which are being aggressively exploited to create concrete jungles, while its green foliage is being tarnished into barren land. Perturbed by the destructive plight of Aravallis, Rio Tinto and SankalpTaru Foundation collaboratively initiated Project Bhavnam to restore the greenery by creating green-lungs in this eco-sensitive region. 2,000 saplings of varied native plant species have been rooted on the rugged mountains of the Aravallis Range to strengthen the natural infrastructure around Delhi NCR. As our plants are growing healthily, they are becoming an essential green source for filtering pollutants from the atmosphere, while increasing the green cover to freshen environment.

SBI Foundation partnered with SankalpTaru to plant native trees in the Himalayas, Uttarakhand to compensate for the forest fires that took place in the region during the year 2016. This program was designed to address the locals’ needs, while preserving and growing trees suitable to protect and increase biodiversity. Ever since its execution, the project has come a long way in revamping the natural aura of the Himalayan region and has also enlightened the natives to prevent incidents of forest fires.

GIC (General Insurance Corporation of India) in collaboration with SankalpTaru Foundation initiated Project Sanjeevani, a Rural Livelihood Support Program in the cold desert of Leh Ladakh and in the arid Thar desert of Rajasthan. Under the initiative, a total of 16,000 trees of several fruit-bearing, shade and fodder giving trees were planted on community land and on the fields of several farmers from the respective regions. This concept promotes involvement of community members in nurturing the foliage around them, while working on the theme of “Gaanv ka jungle, gaanv ke liye” (i.e. a forest by villagers, for the village). Since its initial plantation, the project has come a long way in revamping the living of the natives and empowering women by associating various women beneficiaries to the project.

To create green patches along the tributaries of River Ganga and Yamuna while developing green lungs and supporting rural livelihood through agroforestry, RB along with SankalpTaru Foundation instigated Project Dettol SiTi Shield. The aim is to plant 2 Lakh trees in Ganga Grams of Tehri, Haridwar and Pauri districts of Uttarakhand state and in the most polluted cities of Agra and Kanpur. As the project heads enthusiastically, our teams are striving towards generating a socio-environmental impact by inculcating a sense of environmental responsibility in communities and propagating the idea of having healthy air without pollution, alongside.

Project Sabujoday is a green mission instigated to develop healthy environment, while strengthening the agricultural conditions of Satara and Buldhana districts of Maharashtra. With the plantation of 12,500 trees on the lands of identified rural farmer beneficiaries, our project is successfully encouraging the natives to practice extensive agriculture. As our trees rooted under this initiative would grow healthily through regular fostering, they will not only beautify the vicinity with greenery, but will also enhance water table levels and soil fertility of the semi-arid regions.
