Project Enrich Biodiversity

Project Enrich Biodiversity

Highlights:
  • Support livelihood by sponsoring fruit bearing orchards (mango, guava, lemon) for poor villagers
  • Create a self sustainable model where project beneficiaries nurture and maintain trees in long term
  • In addition to support rural livelihood, native trees species are expected to support bio-diversity. As the plantation site is located near a biological reserve, we believe that grown up trees will also attract wildlife and birds.

SankalpTaru is instrumental in providing horticulture based farming options to underprivileged farmers and also promote biodiversity of the region. There are no employment opportunities other than farming available for poor youth and therefore they opt to move to cities in search of employment.  The village is located on the banks of river Krishna and there is a tremendous potential to extend livelihood option to villagers and promote biodiversity through development of a sustainable plantation program.

“Thanks SankalpTaru and its sponsors for planting trees in our village and supporting poor farmers who have recently suffered from a hailstorm. ” - Ranjeet Patil Villager
